Tax Status and Legal Disclaimer

  • DCIS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Transactional Clarity and Refunds

  • As a nonprofit organization, all donations are considered non-refundable and irrevocable once processed, as funds are immediately dedicated to supporting our mission and programs.

  • Refunds will only be considered in the following limited circumstances: (1) Processing Error: If an error occurs on the part of DCIS or the payment processor (e.g. duplicate charge), (2) Donor Error: If a donor makes an error in the amount or accidentally sets up a recurring donation instead of an intended one-time give, provide the request is made within 30 days of the transaction date.

  • All refunds, if approved, will be credited back to the original method of payment and may take 7 to 14 business days to appear on your statement.

  • For monthly or recurring donations, ongoing donations can be canceled at any time by contacting our Treasurer directly via email or phone. Cancellation requests are processed within 48 hours and stop all future charges.

Donor Privacy and Information Security

  • All online transactions are secured with SSL encryption using TLS 1.2 or 1.3. Credit card information is processed by a third-party payment vendor that is PCI compliant. No payment information is stored directly on DCIS’ systems.

  • DCIS will not sell, trade, rent or share a donor’s name, address, or personal giving history with any other organization.

  • Donor information is collected for internal purposes only, including issuing tax receipts, sending acknowledgements, and informing donors about DCIS’ mission and upcoming events.

  • We may recognize donors in our Annual Report or on our website. Donors will be given the option to remain anonymous and may request their name be omitted from all public listing at any time.

  • Upon request, we will promptly honor all requests to limit or discontinue contact, and we maintain a record of individuals who wish to receive no further solicitation.
